SPECIES
What do the term 'SPECIES' mean ?
A gathering of firmly related life forms that are basically the same as one another and are typically fit for interbreeding and delivering fertile offspring.
The species is the basic classification of ordered grouping, positioning under a genus or subgenus.
Species names are addressed in binomial terminology by an uncapitalized Latin descriptive word or thing following a capitalized generic name, as in Ananas comosus, the pineapple, and Equus caballus, the horse.
